Assistant Superintendent (Commercial Construction)

Location: Vienna, VA, United States; project-site presence required throughout the project

Salary: $84,000–$112,000 per year

What you will do

• Support the Project Superintendent with site access, scheduling, deliveries, logistics, safety, quality, and construction activities.
• Participate in preconstruction planning, scheduling, logistics, project execution, and closeout.
• Maintain project schedules, daily reports, weekly field updates, and complete field documentation.
• Coordinate proactively with field teams, project management, trade partners, designers, clients, and owner vendors.
• Lead and document safety meetings, enforce OSHA standards, and promote a safe work environment.
• Coordinate inspections, punch-list completion, equipment commissioning, and owner or vendor training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 2–5 years of experience managing commercial interior, healthcare, and/or mission-critical projects.
• Ability to understand project schedules, read drawings and specifications, and understand trade delineation.
• Critical-thinking, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Construction trades background, technical knowledge of construction methods, scheduling software proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, time-management skills, prioritization, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
