Vice President, Alternatives Fund Controller (Private Credit)

Location: Newport Beach, CA or New York, NY, USA

Salary: $175,000–$240,000 base salary per year, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Own financial oversight and the control framework for complex evergreen private credit funds.
• Oversee fund administrators responsible for NAV production, valuation, fee calculations, accounting, and investor allocations.
• Review capital account statements, investor reporting, audited financial statements, and fund close deliverables.
• Oversee accounting for private credit instruments, structured products, real estate debt and equity, and hybrid fund vehicles.
• Manage treasury and liquidity activities, including subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, and income distributions.
• Coordinate with Portfolio Management, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Operations, external auditors, regulators, and third-party service providers on reporting, transactions, audits, filings, process improvements, and new product launches.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of experience in fund accounting, audit, or finance within an alternative asset manager or leading public accounting firm.
• Strong experience with alternative investment structures, particularly private credit and evergreen or open-ended funds.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and investment company accounting principles.
• Experience overseeing fund administrators, external service providers, audits, regulatory reporting, and complex financial structures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; ability to use technology and automation tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve efficiency and scalability.

Nice to have

• CPA designation.
• Background in Big Four or another leading public accounting firm.
• Experience across multiple jurisdictions, such as the US, Cayman, or Luxembourg.
