Technical Process Operator (Zipper)

Location: Amherst, Virginia, USA; onsite

Salary: $24.30 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, set up, and maintain multiple high-speed bag-making and packaging machines.
• Perform changeovers, process adjustments, equipment inspections, and minor mechanical repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process failures, clear jams, thread plastic film, and replace equipment parts.
• Conduct scheduled quality checks and enter production and quality data into computer systems.
• Maintain raw material and packaging supplies, process scrap, and complete housekeeping tasks.
• Communicate safety, quality, production, and equipment issues with peers and managers.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule covering days, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional mandatory overtime.
• Ability to stand or walk for at least 10 hours per day, lift and push or pull materials up to 25 pounds, and frequently climb stairs.
• Ability to troubleshoot, make quick decisions, communicate clearly, and work effectively under stressful conditions.
• Ability to work at elevations and in confined spaces, including exposure to hot temperatures.
