Mechanical Engineer Intern - Fall (HVAC)

What you will do

• Develop project deliverables including calculations, reports, construction drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Design and engineer HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, fire protection, and other building support systems.
• Perform load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, and code evaluations.
• Prepare installation details and coordinate specifications with manufacturers and trade partners.
• Assist with conceptual designs and coordinate work across multiple disciplines under project team guidance.
• Collaborate with vendors, clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal team members.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
• Ability and willingness to communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
• Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, or Assemble.
• Progress toward registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Familiarity with AEC industry regulations and standards.
• Prior Mechanical Engineering internship or co-op experience.
