Staff Engineer, Thermal

Location: Daily onsite presence in San Jose, California, United States

Base pay: $163,000–$253,000 USD per year, plus incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Develop reduced-order thermal models and rapid thermal analysis methods for memory product architecture and development.
• Perform high-fidelity thermal analysis and validate data at semiconductor component and system levels.
• Deliver steady-state and transient simulation solutions for semiconductor products.
• Analyze and validate thermal technologies for advanced semiconductor products.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external partners to resolve complex thermal challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related physical science with 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years, or a PhD with 5+ years of experience.
• Deep knowledge and professional experience in Thermal Engineering.
• Expertise in FloTHERM and familiarity with other CFD tools.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Professional maturity, accountability, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced onsite environment.

Nice to have

• Understanding of IC chip and package architectures and thermal design constraints.
• Experience with SiP thermal analysis.
• PhD in Thermal Engineering.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence applications.
