Electrical Engineering Intern - Spring 2027

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week in the office

Compensation: $52,526.00–$59,689.00 per year

What you will do

• Support building and facility electrical design under the guidance of experienced and senior engineers.
• Conduct field surveys, engineering calculations, and computer-aided design for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, control and wiring schematics, equipment layouts, conduit routing drawings, cable schedules, and installation drawings.
• Design grounding grids, lightning protection, lighting, power distribution, utility services, and power generation or storage systems.
• Develop schematic designs into construction documents and participate in project phases from planning through construction close-out.
• Coordinate with railway clients, utility representatives, trades, and internal hirify.global departments while supporting proposals and change orders.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES-equivalent institution.
• Available to work in a hybrid arrangement in Boston, Massachusetts, with at least 3 days per week in the office.
• Ability to use or learn electrical engineering software for load-flow simulation, short-circuit calculations, relay coordination, relay settings, and ground-grid design.
• Ability to perform electrical calculations and prepare technical construction documents.

Nice to have

• Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.
• Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Experience with commercial AC power-system analysis software.
