Child Care Client Services Specialist

Location: Wichita Falls, Texas, USA; full-time, office-based role with regional travel required

What you will do

• Accept and coordinate child care referrals and assess families’ child care needs.
• Determine eligibility, enroll eligible children, process redeterminations, and terminate services when required.
• Maintain accurate case files, eligibility documentation, data entry, and records for assigned clients.
• Explain program information, parental rights and responsibilities, waiting-list procedures, and quality child care options.
• Authorize payments to eligible child care providers and calculate parent cost shares.
• Resolve complaints, advocate for clients, protect confidentiality, and refer suspected fraud or misuse of funds.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED plus at least three years of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, customer service, and time-management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and accurate mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work with diverse and low-income populations, meet deadlines, and work independently and cooperatively.
• Reliable transportation for regional travel and a valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s permit are required; a satisfactory driving record and insurability must be maintained.
• Successful drug/alcohol testing and regular criminal history checks are required.

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
