Disability Claims Specialist (Hybrid)

Location: Pittsfield, Massachusetts, United States; three days per week in the office Tuesday–Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday. Occasional travel to meet customers is required.

Salary: $30.00 per hour projected pay rate; the stated annual base salary range is $41,880–$62,820, with a 3% annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Analyze policy language and medical, financial, and other claim documentation.
• Apply investigative, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to make objective claims decisions.
• Navigate complex situations, systems, tools, and information sources to develop effective solutions.
• Communicate professionally with customers, medical and financial professionals, legal resources, and other stakeholders.
• Handle extensive phone communication with customers and respond with empathy, flexibility, and a solution-oriented approach.
• Work independently while collaborating as needed, managing competing priorities and deadlines, and traveling occasionally for in-person customer meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
• Strong verbal communication for real-time conversations and strong written communication for clear, professional correspondence.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems, resources, and information streams simultaneously.
• Desire to engage customers with a solution-oriented mindset and develop professionally through continuous learning and feedback.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
