Software Test Specialist II

Location: Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; onsite

Salary: CAD 80,000–112,500 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Variable Incentive Pay program.

What you will do

• Participate in Agile Scrum development and collaborate with testers, developers, UX and documentation writers, product management, and other stakeholders.
• Perform hands-on in-sprint QA activities for production-grade software quality.
• Test new features across Android, iOS, and PC platforms.
• Analyze and reproduce complex issues using test results and customer inquiries.
• Design and implement manual and automated test cases and scripts.
• Contribute to testing process improvements, methodologies, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in software verification and validation for Android and iOS applications in Agile environments.
• Knowledge of software testing types and their application to software verification and validation.
• Ability to analyze system performance, client-server issues, and root causes across hardware, systems, and software.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum and continuous integration, including nightly builds and releases.
• Strong communication, collaboration, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AI IDEs and LLMs.
• Experience with TestRail, Jira, and VMware.
• Knowledge of Java, JUnit, Swift, Appium, Shell Script, Android OS tools, Gerrit, and Git.
