Associate Quality Engineer (Semiconductors)

Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 70,000–75,000 per year

What you will do

• Test and validate customer return materials using laboratory equipment, automated test equipment, and application test platforms.
• Lead root cause analyses and engineering investigations for customer and internal failures.
• Coordinate engineering services and activities with suppliers, vendors, and test houses.
• Improve internal quality processes, procedures, and databases.
• Contribute to failure analysis platforms for new product introduction and develop in-house capabilities.
• Drive defect-rate reduction and product quality improvements, presenting recommendations to Engineering, Quality, and Operations stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant industry experience, ideally in semiconductors, integrated circuits, or photonics and lasers.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal generators, multimeters, power supplies, and similar laboratory equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting, solving problems, and analyzing data using statistical concepts and tools.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across organizational levels.

Nice to have

• Previous experience conducting root cause or failure analysis investigations.
• Experience mentoring co-op students or interns on laboratory practices and investigation methods.
