Care Coach (Part-Time) (Mental Health)

Location: Remote, United States; not currently hiring in Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, New York, Washington State, Washington DC, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, or Minnesota.

What you will do

• Engage clients in one-to-one peer discussions through secure platforms.
• Support alignment with treatment goals and continued attendance in programming.
• Provide skill-based interventions to stabilize clients during periods of heightened stress.
• Conduct risk screenings and safety planning, escalating concerns to crisis clinicians when indicated.
• Remain a resource for clients throughout programming and support treatment engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree earned or in progress in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related social or mental health field, and/or relevant peer-support certification.
• Direct and lived experience with mental health or substance use disorders is required.
• Authorized to work in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of professional board standards, client rights, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Slack, Dropbox, Gmail, Zoom, Google Drive, EMR, Microsoft Office, Excel, or Google Sheets.
• Availability for at least 10 hours per week across the specified Mountain Time windows, including rotating Fridays and Saturdays.

Nice to have

• Second-year master’s student status.
• Experience working with young adults and adolescents in individual and group settings.
• At least one year of experience in mental health peer support, mentoring, skills training, or mental health assistance.
• For applicants in Virginia: Virginia PRS or FSP certification and registration.
