Director, Investment Accounting

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead forecasting and actuals-versus-plan analysis for net investment income and book yield across Athene, cedant, and third-party portfolios.
• Own and enhance driver-based forecasting models covering mortgage loans, fixed income, equities, and alternative investments.
• Support investment accounting close activities by analyzing volatility, investigating unexpected results, and improving close accuracy and timing.
• Partner with Athene Finance, hirify.global Finance and FP&A, front-office and back-office teams to explain earnings volatility and non-recurring items.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting materials for senior leadership and board-level discussions.
• Improve automation, reporting scalability, data pipelines, governance, model integrity, and process documentation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, consulting or public accounting, asset management, or corporate strategy.
• Experience with financial forecasting and analysis, accounting, and reporting.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong technology background with a focus on automation and process improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
