Senior GL Accountant

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, USA; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Lead monthly accruals, complex journal entries, payroll accounting, and general ledger activities in SAP.
• Own critical account reconciliations, analyze financial results, and resolve discrepancies with clear explanations for management and business partners.
• Partner with the General Ledger and Treasury Manager to improve the month-end close process, reduce close timelines, and implement best practices.
• Interpret and implement Corporate, Group, US GAAP, and IFRS accounting policies and advise stakeholders on accounting treatment.
• Strengthen internal controls, particularly for fixed assets, and support cash management, banking activities, annual audits, and special projects.
• Identify automation and process improvements while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, processes, reporting, and enterprise systems.
• High proficiency in IT tools, including SAP or an equivalent ERP system, Excel, Word, and business intelligence tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail, reliability, and organization.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and support a diverse, fast-paced, changing work environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Business intelligence experience.
