Senior Benefits Consultant, National Accounts

Location: Hybrid role at any US-based EPIC Insurance Brokers office. Travel, including overnight stays, is required as needed, and flexibility to work outside normal working hours is expected.

Salary: $165,000–$185,000 annual base pay, excluding bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage client satisfaction, service delivery, and relationships for large, complex employee benefits accounts.
• Develop and present customized health and welfare benefit strategies, including cost containment and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage health and welfare vendors, contracts, renewals, procurement projects, RFPs, implementations, and program outcomes.
• Lead client initiatives, compliance deadlines, annual benefit deliverables, plan documentation, 5500 filings, and escalated claim resolution.
• Analyze plan performance, utilization, financials, benchmarks, and valuation models, and present findings to clients.
• Support new business development and mentor Consultants and Associate Consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or business experience.
• 10+ years of experience, preferably in insurance, employee benefits, or HR.
• In-depth knowledge of health and welfare programs, including self-funded medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, absence management, disability, life insurance, wellness, and tax-advantaged accounts.
• Experience managing large self-funded clients with 2,000+ employees in a consulting or brokerage environment.
• Experience with full-cycle RFPs, benefit plan design, and implementation.
• Insurance licensing or the ability to obtain a license after employment, plus strong analytical, communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring or coaching colleagues.
• Experience working with executive-level client contacts and large datasets in Microsoft Office Suite.
