Geotechnical Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: Milepost 263, Orlando, Florida, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Support the Geotechnical Engineering Manager with site investigations, soil testing, foundation design, and geotechnical operations.
• Develop geotechnical scopes, units, and staff-hour estimates and support negotiations with the design team.
• Provide technical guidance on ground improvement, slope stability, foundation systems, and subsurface risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with structural and roadway engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into design plans.
• Review geotechnical reports, calculations, and design recommendations.
• Support permitting, stakeholder coordination, and construction oversight as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 6 years of geotechnical engineering experience, including leadership roles on infrastructure projects.
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within six months.
• Expertise in geotechnical analysis, foundation design, and soil-structure interaction.
• Proficiency with PLAXIS, LPILE, GeoStudio, or similar geotechnical software.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills for complex subsurface challenges.
