AI SWE / OpenStack Service Engineer - T Cloud Public (REF5734Q)

Location: Budapest, Szeged, Pécs, or Debrecen, Hungary. Remote work is available only from within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Analyse OpenStack-derived services and control-plane components, including APIs, configuration flows, service dependencies, database usage, and operational assumptions.
• Use AI coding agents to navigate large multi-repository codebases, reconstruct call flows, analyse interfaces, and generate technical documentation.
• Diagnose build and test issues, including dependency resolution, container builds, runtime configuration gaps, and reproducibility problems.
• Create service maps, dependency notes, API summaries, risk observations, and onboarding documentation for receiving teams.
• Collaborate with DevOps, testing, security, and architecture specialists to validate findings and convert them into engineering backlog items.
• Identify technical debt, hidden coupling, documentation gaps, and maintainability risks requiring expert review.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud platform engineering, DevOps-oriented development, or technical software handover.
• Strong Python skills and experience with at least one backend or systems language such as Go, Java, C, C++, or Rust.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools for codebase exploration, documentation generation, refactoring support, or build issue triage.
• Good understanding of OpenStack-derived architectures, cloud control planes, distributed services, APIs, CI/CD, container delivery, and Linux environments.
• Strong analytical discipline for separating AI suggestions from evidence-backed findings and producing concise technical outputs.
• Experience working in confidential enterprise environments with high standards for traceability, documentation quality, and structured handover readiness.

Nice to have

• Experience with tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Cline, Continue, or VS Code AI extensions.
• Familiarity with OpenStack components including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Horizon, Heat, placement services, message buses, and Kubernetes integrations.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, API clients, log analysis tools, or dependency scanners.
