Senior Systems Software Engineer (Cloud & Distributed Systems)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week from an HPE office. U.S. citizenship is required.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Go applications for Linux user-space management on Debian-based distributions.
• Develop tooling to monitor installed packages, manage updates through apt/dpkg APIs, and maintain version consistency.
• Design service observability systems covering service status, health metrics, and automated log retrieval and parsing.
• Package internal software into production-ready .deb files, including post-install scripts and dependency management.
• Lead the transition to modular, service-oriented system tools while maintaining Linux performance.
• Communicate product architectures and design proposals and negotiate technical options with business and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent field.
• Expert proficiency in Go/Golang for systems-level programming.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, or maintaining system utilities.
• Experience designing distributed systems or microservice architectures, plus knowledge of networking concepts or device management systems.
• U.S. citizenship and proof of citizenship are required for services in a FedRAMP High compliant environment.
