Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer

Location: Rancho Cordova, California, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $94,080–$147,000 per year, plus eligibility for RSU, RCU, and cash bonus programs.

What you will do

• Perform electrical failure analysis on PCBs, power delivery systems, and other SSD subsystems.
• Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, TDR, DMM, and related tools for in-circuit investigations.
• Identify failure root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Document findings in detailed reports and present root-cause analyses and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead or support the definition of system-level failure analysis strategies, processes, and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, plus 3+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with board-level electrical validation, electrical fault isolation, and design of experiments.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, TDR, curve tracers, DMM, and Oakgate.
• Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts, including with tools such as Cadence Allegro Viewer.
• Experience with I2C, UART, JTAG, SMBus, SPI, and PCIe interfaces, plus Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Ability to write test and automation scripts with C and/or Python and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microscope, FLIR, and X-ray analytical tools.
