Electrical Engineer (Consumer Electronics)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site in the office 5 days per week. The role targets a Spring 2027 start and may require travel to Asia.

Base compensation: $100K–$130K plus equity.

What you will do

• Design consumer electronic devices using microcontrollers, SoCs, wireless transceivers, motor drivers, sensors, audio, and LED drivers.
• Prototype new concepts and assess technical feasibility, including Arduino-based prototypes.
• Support schematic capture, PCB layout, hardware bring-up, characterization, production test coverage, and reliability testing.
• Define testing requirements, fixtures, and equipment for component and assembly qualification in mass production.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering, embedded software, industrial design, manufacturing, and product teams.

Requirements

• Experience with mixed analog and digital circuit design and layout.
• Familiarity with ECAD tools such as Altium or OrCAD.
• Knowledge of SMT and flex PCB manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of DOE, root-cause analysis, statistical analysis, and quality measurement techniques.
• BSEE or equivalent degree; an MS is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week and travel to Asia as needed.
