Chief Officer

Location: Perth, WA, Australia; duties are performed aboard expedition cruise ships. Rosters require commitments of up to 6 weeks for domestic voyages and up to 8 weeks for international voyages.

What you will do

• Serve as part of the competent crew aboard expedition cruise ships.
• Work with the Master and Chief Engineer to protect vessel, passenger, and crew safety.
• Manage deck operations, ship inventory, and stock-taking procedures.
• Apply International Safety Management systems and safe working practices.
• Lead and support crew members while delivering a high level of customer service.

Requirements

• Master Unlimited or Chief Mate ticket.
• GMDSS and ECDIS TRANSAS certification.
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and an AMSA-endorsed Certificate of Safety Training.
• Crowd Control and Crisis Management certification.
• AMSA Medical, Remote Area First Aid, and Advanced CPR qualifications.
• ASSB or an equivalent discharge book issued by another country.

Nice to have

• Deck experience on passenger ships.
• Knowledge of HELM ships inventory systems.
