Apprentice Teacher (K-12 Education)

Location: Rochester, NY, USA; onsite

Salary: $45,000 per year

What you will do

• Observe Master Teachers and co-teach with teacher-leaders to develop classroom instruction and management skills.
• Provide substitute teaching coverage and potentially teach a class or small groups of students.
• Deliver daily one-on-one and small-group tutoring, interventions, and student support.
• Plan lessons, implement curricula, design assessments, and use assessment data to refine instruction.
• Assist with grading, classroom responsibilities, Enrichment classes, student events, advisory activities, and supervision.
• Meet regularly with an instructional coach and participate in summer and school-year professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university by the employment start date.
• Passion for working with K-12 students and commitment to educating students in urban communities.
• Self-motivation, personal responsibility, teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to learn and adapt.
• Strong time management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Alignment with hirify.global’ educational philosophy and core beliefs.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working in schools or urban communities.
• Background in education.
