Construction Estimator (Heat Trace)

Location: Full-time, in-office position based at the headquarters in Richmond, Virginia; remote work is not available. Relocation assistance is offered to qualified candidates outside the Richmond area.

What you will do

• Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely cost estimates, bid packages, and purchase orders.
• Review plans and specifications, perform digital quantity take-offs, and clarify project scope with vendors and contractors.
• Research material, equipment, labor, and other project costs while conducting ongoing profitability analysis.
• Manage vendor bid pricing, potential change orders, project logs, and supplier and trade-partner directories.
• Communicate with vendors, trade partners, contractors, and internal teams to keep projects within budget.
• Visit jobsites and other locations as needed and identify cost-saving and business-growth opportunities.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience estimating heat trace construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to read, understand, and navigate architectural plans and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, mathematics, cost analysis, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Ability to travel to jobsites and meetings, use construction equipment and materials, and perform required physical activities.
