Cost Manager (Construction)

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $118,489.97–$135,417.11 per year

What you will do

• Lead estimating, budgeting, cost control, cash flow analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting across complex construction programs.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and forecasting models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor expenditures, identify cost risks and variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.
• Analyze specifications, drawings, schedules, and scope requirements to support cost projections and project decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and manage cost engineers and cost control professionals, including workload planning and performance oversight.
• Coordinate financial data and project controls activities with project management, accounting, scheduling, clients, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience in construction cost management, cost engineering, estimating, project controls, or related disciplines.
• Experience managing cost control efforts on large-scale construction programs and capital projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing cost engineering or project controls teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project delivery processes, cost management software, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CCP, PSP, PMP, CEP, CCE, or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure, transportation, mission-critical, industrial, or commercial construction projects.
• Expertise in earned value management, trend analysis, risk management, and project performance reporting.
