Test Technician

Location: East Syracuse, NY, USA; onsite

Salary: $22–$26 per hour, plus a target 10% profit-sharing bonus and 401(k) match of up to 8%.

What you will do

• Test precision electronic instruments and sensors against engineering specifications and manufacturing assembly procedures.
• Perform functional testing using standard test equipment, vacuum chambers, and leak detectors.
• Analyze test results, tune systems, and troubleshoot issues to the sub-assembly level.
• Use oscilloscopes, DVMs, and other measuring equipment to verify product conformance.
• Record test results and unit histories in data tracking systems.
• Collaborate with supervision and cross-functional teams in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 3–6 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree in mechanical technology, electrical technology, or chemistry with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with circuit boards, electrical equipment, measuring devices, and hand tools.
• Understanding of test sequences and requirements, engineering drawings, and assembly specifications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, fine motor skills, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom, maintain accurate records, multitask, manage priorities, and work independently.
• Proficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office, plus effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with vacuum gauges, valves, and fittings.
• SAP knowledge.
• Mechanical, electrical, chemistry, vocational, technical, or military training.
