Software Developer III (Natural/ADABAS, Oracle)

Location: On-site five days per week at the client headquarters in Austin, Texas, USA. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CT, with occasional pre-approved evening, weekend, or holiday work for production cutovers.

What you will do

• Translate user requirements and stories into technical tasks, development scripts, and deliverables.
• Identify data elements in Natural/ADABAS applications and design corresponding Oracle 19c table structures.
• Write and execute data migration scripts and develop Oracle views for Tableau business intelligence use.
• Support, patch, and upgrade Natural, ADABAS, and CONNX software.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, database administrators, business owners, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, estimate sprint tasks, and produce technical and user documentation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience on application development projects.
• 8+ years of experience with Natural 8.3, ADABAS 6.5, Attachmate EXTRA!, Unix AIX 7.2, Cronus Espbatch Job Scheduler, SCL/JCL, Oracle 12c or 19c, SQL, and SVN or equivalent version control.
• 8+ years supporting, patching, and upgrading Natural, ADABAS, and CONNX software.
• 8+ years eliciting end-user requirements, forming epics and user stories, and following requirements through delivery.
• At least 3 years working as a software developer on an Agile Scrum team, estimating sprint tasks, and using Microsoft Teams or similar tools.
• Availability for an in-person interview and on-site work in Austin, Texas, five days per week; a criminal background check and federal debarment/OFAC screening are required.

Nice to have

• 4+ years writing user documentation.
• 4+ years with NearStar print management and EntireX by Software AG.
• 4+ years working on Java applications.
