Senior Software Developer-SME (Java)

Salary: $164,000–$182,000 per year

RCT Systems supports a 200+ FTE technical development program for web-based applications.

What you will do

• Develop and support web-based applications as part of a large technical team.
• Build and maintain backend web services with Java.
• Work with complex database schemas using Java Persistence API.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, security, systems, and data engineers in Agile workflows.
• Participate in a one-week after-hours on-call rotation after the one-year onboarding period.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• 6–10 years of demonstrable software development experience with a backend emphasis.
• Strong Java programming and Java Persistence API experience.
• Experience with Java web services, including JAX-WS, and working knowledge of Spring Framework or Spring Boot.
• Strong Linux command-line knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related information technology discipline or relevant work experience.

Nice to have

• Cloud development experience, including AWS integration with Java.
• Oracle or Oracle RDS database experience.
• Experience with Vue.js, Bootstrap, or Vuetify.
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, Bash, XML, JSON, YAML, SQL, or PL/SQL.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, ELK, Jenkins, Puppet, or Nagios.
