Maintenance Technician - Automation (APU 4-B)

Location: Vernon Hills, Illinois, United States; onsite, 12-hour rotating day shift from 6 AM to 6 PM

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 USD hourly

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assembly, subassembly, printing, and packaging machines.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain electrical controls, PLC systems, robot arms, motors, encoders, boards, and related automation components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, TPM activities, inspections, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Adjust assembly machine units and restore equipment to operation while controlling downtime.
• Document maintenance work orders and inspections in SAP and communicate repair timelines with the Maintenance Leader.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical, hands-on position.
• Experience with complex assembly automation.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds, push and pull items, climb ladders, and stand or walk throughout the shift.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Office and SAP experience.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Mechanical aptitude, hand-tool proficiency, strong hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
