What you will do

• Deliver engaging commentary, interpretive storytelling, and meaningful interactions with guests.
• Welcome guests onboard and assist with boarding, seating, passenger services, and general hospitality.
• Provide food and beverage service featuring Tasmanian local produce.
• Support berthing, departures, docking, mooring, safety drills, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor guest safety and comfort across public areas and outdoor viewing decks.
• Maintain vessel presentation through cleaning, upkeep, and compliance with WH&S standards.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service, communication, storytelling, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy team and independently.
• Passion for Tasmania's culture, environment, food, and local stories.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service and interest in Tasmanian wines, beers, and spirits.
• Level 2 Workplace First Aid Certificate.
• Tasmanian or National Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, Elements of Shipboard Safety or similar, and Do Food Safely certificate of completion; the first two may be acquired.

Nice to have

• Certificate III or IV in Tourism or Guiding, or equivalent.
• Experience in theatrical performance or public speaking.
• Experience with ropes and gangways for vessel berthing or mooring, or ability to learn.
