Production Engineer

Location: Hybrid or remote in the United States or Canada; offices in New York City and San Francisco. Relocation expense coverage is available for moves to New York City or San Francisco.

Salary: $168,000–$324,500 per year, plus equity. Final compensation depends on location and level.

What you will do

• Build and operate critical infrastructure across compute, storage, messaging, deployment, and observability systems handling financial transactions at scale.
• Drive architectural changes and lead reliability and scalability initiatives from problem identification through implementation.
• Partner with product engineering teams during design reviews and establish reusable golden paths.
• Contribute to the transition toward cellular architecture for international scale, regulated environments, and enterprise-grade service levels.
• Develop AI infrastructure patterns, developer tooling, and self-service systems for cost, performance, and reliability visibility.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead cross-company efforts to eliminate incident root causes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering management experience shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean, well-tested, production-ready code.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems at production scale.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider; AWS is preferred.
• Familiarity with observability practices, including SLOs, error budgets, alerting, and dashboards.
• Experience leading technical projects end to end with cross-team coordination, plus regular use of AI tooling and coding agents.

Nice to have

• Experience with cellular or multi-tenant architecture patterns.
• Experience with workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal.
• Contributions to developer experience or internal platform tooling.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated industries such as FedRAMP or SOC 2.
