Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote - US or Canada

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 estimated base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead infrastructure initiatives and own decisions around cloud architecture, platform strategy, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, VPC, and IAM.
• Develop internal tools, automation, and backend services that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
• Partner with engineering and data teams to support current platform needs and future growth.
• Establish infrastructure best practices and mentor engineers on cloud architecture, observability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS services and strong coding skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure initiatives, make architectural decisions, and balance cost, performance, security, and velocity.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
