2D Electrical Designer (MicroStation)

Location: Aiken, South Carolina, United States; onsite design support with occasional offsite travel and field system walkdowns.

What you will do

• Provide 2D designer support to assigned SRR engineering teams.
• Perform engineering analysis and develop electrical and plant design outputs.
• Create equipment, piping, HVAC, cable tray, conduit, grounding, and lighting layouts.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation.
• Perform system walkdowns in the field and interface with vendors, fabricators, and engineering organizations as required.
• Ensure design services comply with SRR processes and procedures.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience as a designer in the specified discipline.
• Proficiency in 2D MicroStation CADD.
• High school diploma required.
• Ability to perform system walkdowns in the field.
• Working knowledge of electrical standards including IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA.
• Working knowledge of plant design standards including ASME B31.3, NFPA 101, ASME N509/510, and B16.

Nice to have

• Formal training beyond high school in computer-aided design and drafting.
• Experience with mechanical systems, piping, material handling, equipment, and HVAC components.
