Manager, Software Engineering QA

Location: South Jordan, Utah, United States; in-office at least 4–5 days per week. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end quality strategy across desktop applications, iOS and Android mobile apps, APIs, and hardware-connected software.
• Own release readiness, quality risk assessment, release qualification, and go/no-go decisions.
• Review test strategies, test plans, automation results, and complex defect investigations while remaining hands-on when needed.
• Use AI-assisted practices for test generation, risk analysis, test prioritization, change-log validation, log analysis, and defect investigation.
• Manage and mentor QA engineers and QA leads, supporting technical growth, performance, and scalable team practices.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering, communicate quality risks and trade-offs, and improve quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Software QA or Quality Engineering.
• Experience as a technical QA lead and people manager.
• Strong experience testing web, mobile, and API-based applications.
• Hands-on expertise in test planning, regression testing, release qualification, and automation framework analysis.
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted QA tools and practices, plus a deep understanding of QA methodologies and the SDLC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience, with strong communication skills for senior and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience testing software that interacts with hardware or qualifying consumer electronics products.
• Experience leading QA across multiple teams or product areas.
• Experience defining quality metrics, dashboards, or large-scale reporting.
