Maintenance Technician - Automation (APU 4-C)

Location: Onsite in Vernon Hills, Illinois, United States. This is a 12-hour rotating night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust automated assembly, subassembly, printing, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose and restore electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including machine controls and robotic equipment.
• Perform weekly, monthly, and as-needed preventive maintenance, TPM activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Respond to machine alarms, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions for safety, quality, and processing issues.
• Document inspections and maintenance work in cGMP records, work orders, SAP, and the computerized maintenance management system.
• Coordinate repairs with the Maintenance Leader and collaborate with maintenance personnel and external technical support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical, hands-on position.
• Experience with complex assembly automation.
• Experience with electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics; knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitive movements, push and pull items, climb ladders, and stand or walk throughout the shift.
• Eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Office and SAP experience.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic hand-tool skills, strong hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
