Senior Automation Applications Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Clinton, Pennsylvania, United States. Hybrid/on-site expectations may vary based on project needs. Up to 25% domestic and international travel is required.

Salary: $78,400–$133,400 annually, plus potential bonus and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Lead capital automation projects from concept development through equipment qualification and handoff to operations.
• Identify automation opportunities that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Develop user, functional, technical, performance, and equipment acceptance requirements with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage technical collaboration with external automation integrators, OEMs, and machine builders.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, controls, HMI, software, and safety-system deliverables through design, fabrication, testing, installation, and startup.
• Lead design reviews, FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related discipline preferred.
• 8+ years of industrial automation engineering experience preferred.
• Experience developing automated manufacturing systems from concept through production deployment.
• Experience writing equipment specifications, user requirements, and technical design requirements.
• Experience managing automation integrators, OEMs, or machine builders, and supporting FAT/SAT, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Project management experience leading cross-functional teams; automated assembly, inspection, packaging, or material-handling experience is preferred.

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
