Accounts Payable Associate

Location: Hybrid; on-site 2 days per week and remote 3 days per week. Must live within commuting distance of Newark, Camden, or Miami, USA. Preference is given to candidates able to work from the Newark office.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year

KIPP TEAM & Family is a nonprofit network office supporting KIPP public schools and their students across New Jersey and Miami through finance, HR, recruitment, facilities, leadership development, and other support functions.

What you will do

• Process purchase order-backed invoices and enter them into the accounting system.
• Review invoices for accurate general ledger coding, purchase order matching, approvals, and documentation.
• Monitor invoice status and follow up on outstanding approvals to support timely payments.
• Respond to vendor and internal accounts payable inquiries and communicate payment status clearly.
• Use Coupa, Sage Intacct, Zendesk, and related systems to support payment workflows.
• Identify discrepancies, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend process and automation improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of accounts payable, finance, or related experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with financial systems such as Coupa, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms is preferred.
