Director of Professional Learning

Location: Houston, TX, USA; hybrid work with reporting to the central office or schools three days a week. Travel between campuses, school sites, and regional offices may be required.

Salary: USD 85,000–95,000 per year.

What you will do

• Set the vision and oversee the preparation, execution, and follow-up of summer and in-year professional learning for teachers.
• Design and facilitate training content grounded in instruction, pedagogy, content, and adult learning principles.
• Coordinate professional learning logistics so participants can focus on content mastery.
• Define and track success metrics for session execution, progress, and content mastery.
• Manage internal partnerships and collaborate across departments to deliver a cohesive professional learning strategy.
• Lead, develop, and coach direct reports when applicable, while contributing to statewide academic strategy and supporting school and regional leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least two years of Pre-K–12 teaching experience with a strong record of results.
• At least two years designing and facilitating adult training and at least two years in instructional coaching roles.
• Experience leading through change, executing major initiatives, and managing cross-departmental work.
• Demonstrated excellence in professional learning design, project management, partnership development, strategic planning, and data-informed decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; reliable transportation is required for travel between campuses.
