Project Geologist - Land

TL;DR

Project Geologist - Land (Geotechnical and Environmental Site Investigation): Completing environmental and geotechnical site investigations with an accent on field exploration planning, soil logging, sampling, testing, and technical reporting. Focus on coordinating drilling activities, managing subcontractors and clients onsite, interpreting laboratory data, and delivering safe, compliant field assignments.

Location: Hybrid role based in Houston, Texas, United States. Work authorization in the United States is required without restrictions; occasional international travel or assignments may be required.

What you will do

• Develop site exploration plans and coordinate permits, property access, agencies, drillers, and drilling schedules.
• Lead environmental and geotechnical site investigations, including soil boring and test-pit logging, sampling, and in-situ testing.
• Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, and procure and mobilize project consumables and tooling.
• Enter and interpret laboratory data, assist with laboratory testing, and prepare index-data analyses.
• Support cost estimates, proposals, and engineering reports while managing clients onsite.
• Drive equipment to job locations and complete field assignments in accordance with safety and environmental procedures.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of natural resources, environmental science, geosciences, and geotechnical investigation practices.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and other software applications.
• Ability to interpret contracts, proposals, technical procedures, and regulations, and to write clear reports and business correspondence.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record; ability to obtain a valid passport for possible international assignments.

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Geological Engineering or Geology.
