Operating Model Consultant (Defence & Security)

Location: London, UK. Hybrid working requires attendance at the office or client site a minimum of 2 days per week, with some assignments requiring up to 5 days per week on a client site. Applicants must be British citizens or have maintained continuous UK residency for the past 5 years where security clearance is required.

What you will do

• Design strategies, operating structures, and solutions for clients in defence and security, health, and the wider public sector.
• Deliver projects spanning strategic design, business analysis, organisational design, programme definition, and design coherence.
• Analyse customer, user, and citizen needs to identify opportunities for organisational improvement.
• Apply design thinking and data-driven, human-centred approaches to complex client challenges.
• Communicate recommendations and insights to stakeholders from operational teams through to C-suite leaders.
• Collaborate with specialists across interdisciplinary and blended client teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in business strategy, organisational design, operating models, business analysis, or related work.
• Experience delivering work within or for defence, health, or public sector organisations.
• Strong analytical, creative, abstract-thinking, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand how technology can improve organisational effectiveness.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary teams, while also serving independently as a day-to-day client contact.
• Ability to meet UK background-check and, where applicable, security-clearance residency requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital operating models.
• Understanding of business or technology architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with enterprise operating model concepts.
• Understanding of change drivers affecting national security, health, and public sector leaders.
