Maintenance Fitter (Manufacturing)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; onsite maintenance support for plant machinery

Compensation: up to AUD 52 per hour

Circular Plastics Australia (PET) is a joint venture between hirify.global, Cleanaway, Asahi Beverages, and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners that operates large-scale PET recycling facilities in Australasia and produces food-grade recycled plastic resin.

What you will do

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and emergency response on manufacturing equipment and production lines.
• Install, assemble, test, and commission new machinery in collaboration with OEM manufacturers.
• Perform root cause analysis on critical plant failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production to minimize downtime and support safety, quality, and operational improvements.
• Maintain equipment records, spare-parts information, and documentation for maintenance and repair work.
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments and ensure equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or equivalent.
• General mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair experience on manufacturing production lines.
• Experience with modern technology and automation in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals and solve emergency maintenance problems.
• Team-oriented, proactive, self-motivated approach; forklift licence and Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade are desirable.
