TL;DR
Human Resources Generalist (HR Operations): Supporting day-to-day HR operations for a pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization with an accent on employee records, recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and workplace safety. Focus on coordinating compliance-driven HR processes, maintaining employment authorization documentation, supporting WSIB administration, and improving employee experience.

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; applicants should be within commuting distance of the Greater Toronto Area

Starting annual base compensation: $65,000 CAD per year, plus benefits. The final offer depends on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Eurofins CDMO Alphora develops and manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosage products for clinical trials and commercial requirements, serving global pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

What you will do

  • Manage employee files, HRIS records, reporting, audits, invoices, employment authorization records, and HR process administration.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, stay and exit interviews, offboarding, events, and corporate initiatives.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, site tours, training binders, background screening communications, and full-cycle recruitment support.
  • Prepare job postings, screen applications, coordinate interviews, and maintain timely candidate communications in compliance with employment and pay transparency legislation.
  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration, including employee inquiries, enrollments, changes, and documentation.
  • Coordinate training and support workplace safety, injury reporting, WSIB claims, return-to-work, and accommodation administration.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, and employee records management.
  • Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, confidentiality, and independent judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, HRIS systems, and related workplace technologies.

Nice to have

  • Human Resources Management Certificate, postgraduate Human Resources Program, or progress toward or possession of the CHRP designation.
  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration, WSIB, workplace safety, or fast-paced manufacturing, professional, regulated, or compliance-driven environments.
