Commercial Analyst (Renewable Energy)

What you will do

• Build and maintain commercial intelligence on European power-market fundamentals, regulatory developments, grid constraints, revenue structures, and commercial risks.
• Develop market models and revenue forecasts for offshore wind, onshore wind, solar PV, BESS, and hybrid assets.
• Assess route-to-market options, including CfDs, corporate and utility PPAs, tolling, merchant exposure, capacity markets, and ancillary services.
• Support auctions, seabed processes, competitive bids, investment papers, financial models, and portfolio strategy decisions.
• Contribute to European storage, flexibility, hybridisation, and asset monetisation strategies.
• Manage the scope, direction, and critical review of work delivered by external contractors and advisers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or a related analytical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in power markets, renewables, BESS, utilities, trading, investment, asset management, or energy advisory.
• Hands-on experience with commercial modelling, market analysis, revenue forecasting, and investment support for renewables or flexibility assets.
• Exposure to European power markets and route-to-market structures, with experience in offshore wind, BESS, PPAs, CfDs, auctions, or capacity markets highly desirable.
• Must be based in the UK and already have the right to work there.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Relevant Master’s or PhD degree.
• CFA or an energy-market qualification.
• Experience with digitalisation, data analytics, QHSE software, or environmental management systems.
