Product Engineer Sustaining - On site (Mechanical Engineering)

What you will do

• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, suppliers, and contract manufacturers on new product introduction and sustaining engineering projects.
• Support 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechanisms, sheet metal structures, plastic housings, and gearing systems.
• Conduct DFMA, DFI, DTC, and value engineering reviews to improve manufacturability, inspection, cost, and product performance.
• Review tooling and manufacturing processes, including First Article Inspection and form, fit, and function verification.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, process capability studies, and DOE.
• Perform validation and reliability testing, qualify tooling and materials, and use customer feedback and field data to drive product improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience developing and launching consumer products, electro-mechanical devices, medical devices, automotive components, or similar products in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with statistical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and product and process improvement.
• Proficiency with Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) or SolidWorks; familiarity with FEA simulation is beneficial.
• Experience with injection-molded plastic part design, tooling, process optimization, sheet metal fabrication, mechanism design, and GD&T.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with rapid prototyping and hands-on 3D printing.
• Experience with FEA simulation.
