Engineer - Process Engineering (Medical Devices)

Location: Onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia

What you will do

• Provide technical support to production operations and resolve process-related issues on manufacturing lines.
• Troubleshoot quality and production problems for general surgical instruments, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes and assembly sequences for quality, productivity, cost, and safety.
• Analyze engineering drawings, product specifications, and manufacturing data to prepare process documentation, operation sheets, and cycle-time estimates.
• Create and maintain work instructions, manufacturing guidelines, check sheets, SOPs, and machine programs.
• Drive process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a production environment; strong fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC 5-axis and 3-axis milling, conventional milling, Berger grinding, riveting, expansion and closing, bending and forming, tooling, and fixture fabrication.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, machining and manufacturing processes, materials science, technical drawings, and process specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment, tooling, material, process-deviation, and operator-related issues and identify effective corrective actions.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
