Systems Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA; on-site role with travel up to 30–50% across the USA and Canada

What you will do

• Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and industrial information solutions.
• Contribute to project conceptualization and design across the full project life cycle.
• Program, debug, test, and commission systems at client sites.
• Design and configure PLC/PAC, HMI, SCADA, networking, database, and vision solutions.
• Create engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, and case studies.
• Develop improvement opportunities, solve complex technical problems, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology field.
• Academic or professional experience with relevant automation and industrial information technologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, self-starting, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and full-time access to a personal vehicle.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% in the USA and Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience in the food and beverage or life sciences industries.
• Experience with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote I/O, or Modbus.
• Experience with Python, PI System Historian, and databases.
