Security Architect (Cloud)

Location: Remote - UK; hybrid work model and on-call participation for security incident response.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and monitor security controls across AWS and Azure environments.
• Investigate security alerts and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remediation.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code security standards with Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates.
• Integrate security automation into CI/CD pipelines and maintain tooling for vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance monitoring.
• Create secure design patterns, reference architectures, policy-as-code controls, and cloud security guardrails.
• Partner with DevOps, SRE, Engineering, Compliance, and Product teams on architecture reviews, security enablement, and risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience in cloud security or security engineering.
• Demonstrable experience securing both AWS and Azure production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, scripting, automation, containers, and Kubernetes security.
• Experience with incident response and forensics in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and related security compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Cloud and security certifications such as AZ-500, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, CISSP, CCSP, CEH, GIAC, or Security+.
• Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, threat modeling, CNAPP, and software supply chain security.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, security research, threat intelligence, or open-source security projects.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other data privacy regulations.
