Senior Painted Product Specialist (Coatings)

Location: Port Kembla, NSW 2505, Australia; onsite laboratory-based role

What you will do

• Evaluate coil coating technologies and painted product systems through laboratory testing.
• Develop and refine assessment methodologies for new coating technologies.
• Investigate coating durability, product risks, and performance characteristics before scale-up trials.
• Assess paint systems holistically, including primers, topcoats, overlays, and emerging coating technologies.
• Support investigations into coating application, curing behaviour, gloss control, and process development.
• Collaborate with product application teams, durability specialists, and technical project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience with coated products, paint systems, polymers, materials science, or related technologies.
• Experience evaluating the performance characteristics of painted or coated products.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across technical teams and contribute to multidisciplinary research programs.
• Qualifications in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.
