Underground Mine Planning Engineer (Mining)

Location: Haile Operations, South Carolina, United States. On-site mine work with an 8/6 rotation and 12-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Lead weekly pre-planning workshops with operations, maintenance, geology, geotechnical, ventilation, and services teams.
• Develop and publish weekly underground mine plans aligned with three-month rolling plans, forecasts, and operational targets.
• Monitor plan execution, prepare conformance reports, identify variances, and define corrective actions.
• Create OPEX development centerlines and short-range stope shapes in Deswik MDM for technical review and approval.
• Conduct field inspections, reconcile stope performance to plan, maintain the stope priority tracker, and identify schedule risks.
• Provide short-term drill-and-blast planning coverage and contribute to safety, environmental, and incident investigation activities.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Mining Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Experience with mine planning using Deswik.Sched or other scheduling software.
• Ability to work an 8/6 rotation and 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to climb 25-foot vertical ladder sections unaided and work in a mine environment with required personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Deswik.Sched, drill and blast, longhole open stoping, or underground development planning.
