What you will do
- Generate, update, and calibrate should-cost models across product categories using manufacturing process and benchmarking data.
- Develop detailed component cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, machinery, overhead, rejection rates, SG&A, and profit.
- Partner with sourcing, design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and R&D teams on design-to-cost and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor commodity impacts and use cost models to anticipate material and labor cost inflation or deflation.
- Prepare customized cost reports, scorecards, and dashboards and support supplier negotiations and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Report project status, requirements, and roadblocks to business leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in design engineering, production, operations, or manufacturing.
- 3+ years of experience with cost-modeling software, specifically aPriori, including creating detailed models for different manufacturing processes.
- Deep knowledge of machining, forging, casting, plastic injection, sheet metal, aluminum extrusion, packaging, and assembly processes.
- Strong data analysis and management skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Ability to create scorecards and dashboards from large, continuously changing datasets.
