Cost Engineer

Location: Onsite at the manufacturing plant in General Escobedo, Nuevo León, Mexico

Salary: MXN $0–$0 monthly; the final base pay depends on work location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain product cost estimates from concept through production and identify category and platform cost trends.
• Prepare cost analyses for design decisions, supplier negotiations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Evaluate product, tooling, packaging, and manufacturing costs to identify optimization opportunities.
• Partner with Product Development and Design to balance cost, quality, and performance objectives.
• Participate in Value Analysis and Value Engineering activities to achieve target costs and share best practices.
• Collaborate with suppliers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Finance, and Product Development on costing, reporting, and profitability decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in cost engineering, product development, manufacturing, sourcing, or a related function.
• Strong analytical skills in product costing, BOM analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of plastics, injection molding, tooling, and consumer product manufacturing is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
