Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Belfast, United Kingdom; hybrid working with at least two days per week in the office or on client site, and potentially up to five days per week on a client site.

What you will do

• Design and deploy production data pipelines from ingestion through consumption within big data architectures.
• Design and build scalable ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes on AWS.
• Process and integrate large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Develop scripts, extract data through APIs, and write SQL queries.
• Work according to agile practices with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in internal projects and collaborative problem-solving sessions.

Requirements

• Experience designing and deploying production data pipelines in big data environments.
• Practical experience with Java, Python, Scala, Spark, and SQL.
• Experience processing structured and unstructured data and implementing ingestion and curation functions on AWS.
• Experience with APIs, scripting, and SQL-based data extraction.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Applicants must be British citizens or have been continuously resident in the UK for the past five years to meet potential security-clearance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS data and analytics services including EMR, Glue, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
• Eligibility for UK security clearance.

• Final 60-minute meeting with a PA leader including a mini case study and client-centricity discussion.
